I enter the correct credentials and returns an error

This situation happens when the screen saver is activated on the computer. 

It is common to press the space key to exit the screen saver and to log on to the computer by entering the user credentials.
To do this is to insert an extra white space that causes the credentials are not correct.

Sometimes, A user removes the PC from its state of inactivity for us by adding this white space in these fields where we enter our credentials.

Before you enter the credentials, make sure that there is a blank space inserted in those fields.

How i buy splitter, whiteboard,etc. for my classroom

Any peripheral hardware that must be installed in any computer classroom must meet a series of requirements to be integrated into a classroom which must be validated by the Computing Service prior to the purchase.

As A guideline they should have drivers that support both CentOS v 6.8 and v7.4 as Windows 7 and 10.

How do I move files between Linux / Windows / My files?

To keep or to copy my files between systems or different computers, you must use the personal folder on disk.uv.is.

How do I get a program to the computer classroom?


In the case of software that is not available in the official repository of the University to send it to the computer classroom can be done in the following way:

1.- Generate a ISO image or a compressed ZIP or TAR archive of the installation disk.
2.- Send by setpoint (https://consigna.uv.es) the file.
3.- Send an email to aulesuv@uv.es with the link that will be generated https://consigna.uv.es.

1.- Burn or copy a CD / DVD / USB installation disk.

What is the size of the Computer Classrooms maintained the SIUV?

The project of Classrooms maintains approximately 3,500 computers, the date of September 2017, distributed in the classrooms of computing and theory of the University.

What are the computers in my Classroom?

There's a lot of casuistry. But in any case, at the time a Classroom is entered in the Project Classrooms, we manage, and we must be informed at all times and above, any handling, physical changes to the hardware, changes of situation of the computer,... that probably will have an impact on a improper functioning.


I haven't the latest version of CentOS/Windows 10 on your computer?

The software changes in a park as large of computers must be measured carefully because they can affect many people. The testing of new software requires a lot of time and effort.

Why do I have to login to enter in the computer?

The National Security Scheme (ENS) requires the identification of users who access the electronic resources of the Public Administration in order to ensure the security and privacy of the information of the users themselves.


Art 16 of the Regulation on security of information: it establishes that access to information systems must be controlled and limited to authorized users, restricting access to the functions allowed.

Rules for the use of the ICT Resources art. 5.1: Allocation and use of Resources: The University of Valencia has to provide users with a login account consisting of an id and a password, through which you can use the ICT resources to which it has been enabled. In addition to the art. 5.3 says that the user is responsible for any actions performed through your account, which requires that we identify in the use of ICT resources.

The Art.8 of the Regulation for the use of the ICT resources develops the principle of responsibility and the identification is critical.

Can I add / remove computers from my Classroom?


The classrooms are remotely controlled from the servers of the computer classroom project, so any change must be previously consulted through a part in  https://solicitudes.uv.es.

Can I use the operating system XXX v.y in the Classroom?

No. At this time we can only run CentOS v. 6.x and Windows 7.

What is virtualization?

Virtualization allows you to reduce the cost of maintenance and deployment of software in such a large number of computers. The computers are running natively on a Linux operating system, CentOS, lightweight, and validated, and, from this, the user can connect to a Windows 7 operating system that runs in our Data Center.


What to do when a computer does not work?

What computers can I purchase to mount / replace a Classroom?

Other Requirements

What about the classrooms with Windows XP without virtualizing?

Disappear. Windows XP is no longer maintained by Microsoft. In addition, the installation of Windows without virtualizing is not scalable.

What operating systems can I use? Do you use CentOS or Windows?

For a basic understanding of the Internet and Office automation, operation only with CentOS should be sufficient and faster.

For exclusive programs of Windows or documents that are not rendered well with Linux tools we have to use Windows.

What type of Classrooms we maintain?

Classrooms of Free Access: Are those that allow the user access to the computing resources of the university outside of teaching hours of.

Classrooms of Theory: those that are used solely and exclusively for teaching under the supervision of a teacher. These can have a single computer for the teacher and computers for teacher and students.

Classrooms Mixed: they Are those that are used both for teaching and for open access outside of class hours.

I want to install a software or particular version in a classroom.

Any software or version that you want to have available in any classroom must meet the following requirements:

  • Have enough licenses for the machines required.
  • Generate a part of the installation (https://solicitudes.uv.es) with at least 15 days prior to the initial date at which it is required to use
  • If the software is not available through the software repository of the University (https://software.uv.es) must provide an ISO image or DVD copy or similar.
In any case, the installation of a software version or in concrete shall be subject in addition to the legal requirements, license, and technical support needed for that application to be functional and not interfere negatively with other already previously installed.

Procedimiento para instalar el sistema operativo base (CentOS) en un ordenador de aula.

Configurar el ordenador para arrancar desde la interfaz de red. Esta opción de arranque
está en el BIOS del equipo y puede denominarse Network Boot, Boot Services o de otra forma
(depende del BIOS). El BIOS de un equipo de Aulas está protegido por contraseña, si no conoce
dicha contraseña, en AULES podemos proporcionarla.

También es necesario que nos indiquen la IP del equipo para que desde AULES habilitemos el acceso
de dicho equipo a nuestro servidor PXE.

Una vez configurado correctamente la opción de arranque en el BIOS y habilitado el acceso al servidor
PXE del equipo, reiniciamos el equipo y durante el proceso de arranque desde la tarjeta de red, debemos
pulsar la tecla F12, para acceder al menú de instalación del sistema operativo. En el menú de instalación
por PXE, seleccionamos con las teclas de dirección, la opción “General UV” y pulsando la tecla Intro
accedemos a otro menú con varias opciones.  En este nuevo menú podemos seleccionar la opción “CentOS 7 – RC1”
si queremos instalar CentOS 7.X o la opción “CentOS 6.8 General” si instalamos CentOS 6.8 en el equipo.
La instalación de CentOS es desatendida.
